I believe Jakewilson.com has them for 155.99 and 181.99.

I got HDL to beat Jake Wilson's tire prices (they'll beat anyone's advertised prices, and don't give you a hard time about it...)
a couple of tires ago... Jake didn't seem all that different when I bought my most recent tire (around Christmas)...

You gotta call HDL and hang on while they verify the other price, so you gotta do the deal during their business hours...

I bought my last tire from Jake Wilson as well. Along with new valve stems and Dyna Beads.

I just received an email from Cruiser Customizing saying they have a tire sale that started today. I didn't check, but you may want to.

It may just be me, but I think the company that will match someone elses prices has over charged you and all you are doing is negotiating with someone that has been in your pocket already. They should already have the best price without negotiating.

just my opinion!

...Jake Wilson...

Just bought Cobra front and rear from them last week... looked at all the usual suspects... no one had a better price. Not worth my time to try and get a price match.. unless they are beating the best advertised price by a ton.

Service matters too... I ordered, they shipped within hours... free shipping too.

Hey ptgb , I looked at Jake wilson's web page last nite and they were the cheapest online.... did you happen to look at the made date to see how old the tire was .... I have often wondered about online stores how often their stock moves instead of sitting on the shelf .... Thanks the Geezer crazy2

I can only surmise, that at their prices, Jake Wilson moves stock pretty quick... but have no way to really know.

I change out my tires every spring, no matter what, in an effort to avoid having to change out mid-season... would hate to miss a ride because of tire delivery or mechanical issues outside of my control. I usually put enough miles on that changing them out every year is prudent. The back tire is usually ready to be changed. The front, I could probably ride longer... oh well.

Anyway... to answer your question.... I will let you know tonight. Will take a look at them when I get home. Just have to find the thread about deciphering the date code...

Front Tire Date Code: 3209 = August 2009

Rear Tire Date Code: 4309 = October 2009

I honestly don't know if 1.5 year old tires are good/no good...

Hey PTGB , I just mentioned the age because of the hoop-la a few years ago on Sixty Minutes during the time alot of folks were having blow-outs and they had brought up the Mfg. date & age of the tire ... they had mentioned the date to look for would be just right of the DOT letters and that tires over fours old sitting on the shelf could be unsafe because of the age and what the tire rubber goes thru over time ... but it looks like Mr. Jake will have my business and thanks for your comments ... Thanks the Geezer crazy2
