Grin Put the triple tread on Sunday and have put about 140 miles on it is all, but I got to say I am liking it. My observations are as follows.

1) Turning, cornering, leaning and changing lanes is decisive and you actively engage the bike in the movement for the entire maneuver until the bike is back upright. Simply shifting my weight on the peg does not create a lane change.

2) At 37 psi the ride is comfortable and the bike feels very solid in the curves.

3) TT 205 60 16 with Progressive 440 HD shocks, which I have always kept fairly stiff, did not require the nut cage mod even with 400 lbs of rider/passenger/gear on the bike.

4) I dislike grooved pavement even more than I used to.

5) If you go to the Darkside bring your own dang cookies, there weren't any there when I arrived. I only found brauts and burgers and beer and potato salad. So who really cares right.

Don't forget to carry your fire extinguisher. You can't get a darksided motorcycle inspected in Texas without it (except on alternate Tuesdays and Thursdays and the days in between).

I think the secret to comfortable survival on grooved pavement is to NOT try to manhandle the bike.  Maintain good control of the bars but don't try to fight it.

Used to wear myself out fighting it.

Two or three hundred miles from now you won't give it a second thought.

I agree!  Work with the bike and don't fight her; it'll be second nature before you know it.

Welcome to the Darkside.  BTW - you were pre-cookie'd at the meeting that God Fire retired at, I brought them for everybody.

Yeah on the way home, that was where I discovered I hated it.

congrats on crossing over.  I am looking forward to coming over myself, when the finances let me.  Sorry I took off sooner than expected, but the boss needed help with the packing of household stuff.  I didn't get a chance to get the patch.  When you get around to it, I will need 2 sets of the DFW and the Texas patches.  Lisa wants patches also, hence the 2 sets.   Let me know by email,  stormrider065@yahoo.com,  when you have those ready.  I may come and get them myself and possibly bringing the other half with me.  I'll let Lisa look at your bike and see what she thinks about the dark side.  I may have her talked into it.  She has her doubts, but she ain't driving. 2funny  Again congrats and look forward to getting together again.

If you want to go Darkside, wait (if you can) until we get one of those special "buy 3 get one free" deals.

Yeah, I'll have to wait for a bit anyway.  Not a big deal.  Just let me know when it all goes down and see what we all can work out.

You gotta' go to the main site and find the Dark Lord.  Or email him at darkside0001@[removethis]hotmail.com

If he finds the force is strong within you, a Dark Side number is granted.

most of the time the "buy 3 get one," (you actually have to pay for all 4 tires and wait on the rebate to come back in 12 to 16 weeks.) or others are mail in rebates. i nevr saw one that they gave you an instant rebate.

Alternative? go to Marcos on Belknap and  28th in Haltom city(across from the army navy store)
you can get a like new tire for $50 bucks. they won't mount it, but we still do. or you get it mounted at 2 wheel world, or there's a place in dallas that'll do it. you can get any tires there, we just got 4 almost brand new ones, mounted and balanced for $200, course we do lots of business there. tell marco we sent ya, he'll give ya good deal.  Grin
