Welcome to the fraternity - I was captured by my valk in December 2010.  There is tons of information on the valk here and plenty of good folks willing to help.

Good Luck....

I recommend being frequent.  You'll find out a whole bunch of stuff, some useful.  And you'll also find out about rides, meetings, wrench parties, etc.

Woody reminded me that perhaps introductions really would be in order since I myself am also a newbie in VRCC. My name is Orvo ( yes, it's a real name  Cool ), my handle comes from the name of my bike, Sigrún the Valkyrie, whom I've been riding with for almost 3 years and 25 000 miles worth. Still madly in love with her  Wink

For some reason I've never gotten around to register in VRCC, but thought now to mend my ways and join as a member. Already found the forum to be a source of all kinds of information.

Cheers!

Welcome Christbiker and Sigrún!  I'm not much of a social creature, but I am very thankful that I hooked up with these Valk folks.  I'm with Rainmaker...even if you are not "frequent", it would be an oversite to not engage in a couple of gatherings.  I've only been to one ride and two wrench parties in the year I've had my Valk, and I learned more in those hours than all the months of riding and reading combined.  Great group of folks!

Welcome Christbiker and Sigrún to the asylum.  You're gonna like it here.  There are loads of good people up on your area to help answer any questions you might have.  Get out to a dinner or a wrench party, you won't be sorry.

Where do I find enough blushing smileys to enter here??

Thank you RainMaker, your appreciation is heart-warming.... I just thought it would be the right thing to do. I was seriously  considering Ölrún first, since her name would literally translate from old Norse as Ale Rune, who knew the secrets of brewing beer ( somehow that felt....hmm...... interesting  Roll Eyes ) but then decided that Sigrún, the Victory Rune is definitely cooler  Cool

Cheers!

Welcome Christbiker and Sigrún!  IMHO there is no finer group of people anywhere than right here.  Christbiker, don't let the distance play too large a role.  I am North of you, and have been harrassing, uh, I mean associating and riding with this group for -- geez  8 or 9 years now?  Can that possibly be?   Shocked  Correct me if I'm wrong guys.  I could be having a senior moment.

Any way, welcome to both of you

To all, thanks for all the warm welcomes.  It's appreciated.  Last bike before the Valk was a Rune.
So Sigrun, I found your naming criteria accurate and amusing.  I will try to make a meeting or party but do work alot and am involved in CMA McKinney Chapter.  Thank you all again amd Blessings

Hola compadres

Thanks for the warm welcome to everyone! Been reading now intensively all over the forum and am quite convinced that there would not be a question unanswered here. Maintenance guides, generic parts, part numbers.... yeap, this looks like fun  Cool

Now while I'm at it, let me try this video embedding feature.... the clip itself is not all that great, but works for a test and we all could use some musical therapy from a flat 6 every once in a while don't we  Roll Eyes

And my goodness, it works. What a wonderful way of posting video clips  cooldude

You are correct - any question you have will be answered.  Sometimes correctly.  But always answered.

If you have philosophical, theological or other non-motorcycle related questions, just post them to the general board and boy, will you get answers there! Evil

Thanks for the video clip.
