I HAVE A 98 STANDARD WITH COBRAS AND THE TACH'S REDLINE BEGINS AT 6500. HOW MUCH MORE CAN I GO AND STILL BE SAFE?  I SURE DON'T WANT HER TO BLOW!  cooldude

Mr. Honda's engineers put that line there for a good reason. I wouldn't intentionally take it beyond 6501.

They have a governor so you can't over rev it. I think it is about 6800.

I've hit it more than once. cooldude

Ya these things have the rev limiter-been up on it once or twice or so on my i/s. Don't know the revs involved-but you'll know when it starts blubbering and missin. Nice little piece of built in insurance.    as always RIDE SAFE

i have a dyna 3000 on mine and the rev limiter is set quite a bit higher than stock. a stock valk doesn't make torque above 6500 rpm anyway. hittin the rev limiter won't hurt your bike

No I know it won't hurt it cause i hit it on the 1800 quite a bit. I just never took the Valk over 6500 because I didn't know it had a rev limiter. cooldude
