Im going to be getting some shorter shocks soon so I want to also lower the front end.  I already have Progressive front springs that I need to install.  I looked at the Lowering the Forks option in shoptalk but after reading it a few times, I think I would be getting in over my head.  I know you can slip the forks but I would prefer not to do it that way.  Is there anyone in Southern New Jersey that would be interested in the job of lowering the forks with my new springs as per the shop talk way here?

If so, PM me.  Thanks.

Absolutely no problem with slipping the forks as long as you dont go too far.  3/4 in is safe, Ive been running mine at 1 in for several years, but that is max.

I would just prefer not to do it that way.  1st reason is of the look of the tubes sticking up.  The other is because I am going to want to go down over and inch since I'll be going with 11.5 or 12 inch shocks in the rear.

If you lower the rear too much you can drag your pipes in turns  especailly  if you have longer than stock afermarket pipes. I had 11.5 stocks for awhile and the pipes would drag coming out of parking lots or gas stations and in hard corner.

Im not a hard cornering guy and I have Cobras but they are cut down 11 inches.  I am stuck between 11.5 and 12 inchers.  I just dont want to have bottoming problems.  Im looking at the Progressive 430's.
