Center Stand Installation Question

All the center stand installation instructions I've read say to adjust the "engine case-bumper".

I bought one used and it came without an engine case-bumper or even the hole in the mount that is goes thru.

Do I need the case bumper? Was one always there or was it a later mod to the stands??

deadwood.....my centerstand had the bumper stop on it, but it would not touch the rear of the case like the directions said it should.  i never have had any problems with it being this way.  i know....your's doesn't have it there at all....i don't think it will make any difference at all.

The early versions didn't have that feature. Without it you have the possibility of twisting the frame piece it's mounted on, soooo....they added the bumper to help prevent it. My suggestion would be to take a close look at the picture in this post that shows it, then add it yourself. Replacing that frame member is much more of a PITA. Since I installed mine at InZane in Old Kentuck, I've only used my lift to work on the front of the bike. Don't need a lift now to change the rear tire.

Thanks guys. Kinda what I thought. I called Rivco to see if they happened to have one in a drawer somewhere. They are checking. Otherwise it doesn't look like it takes a rocket scientist to make and install one.
