Hi Everyone,
For those of  you who are using the Rotella T6.  I have had good luck with the previous Rotella synthetic 5w40 oil.   This is my first jug of the T6.  Do you experience louder tranny noise with the T6 as opposed to the previous 5w40?  I sure do.

I get more tranny noise with the T6 than I got from either Amsoil or M1 but have never tried the other Rotella products.

I didn't notice any difference. I just kinda wondered if the T6 thing wasn't just a packaging reformulation?  ???

Same thing here. I think you are correct on the T-6 thing.

I tried the T6 for about 500 or so miles, went back to Mobil 1 15-50, no more tranny noise.

I noticed the same .... went back to Mobil 1 15-50 .... don't know what's in there but the Mobil 1 15-50 (silver cap) is noticeably quieter

I imagine a thicker oil would quiet things down but I was reading somewhere that it may cause trannys to run hotter

Trannies run on the same oil the motor runs on.

Before I purchased the T-6 I did some reading on the Shell site.  It appears that the T-6 is supposed to be an improved version of the old 5w-40 version.  Listed different areas where the T-6 has better qualities, they all sounded great.  My only problem is the tranny noise.  I guess I will give it a little more time but if it does not get better, and I don't know why it would, I am going to try something else, maybe the Mobil 1.
