Ok, just read about the new mower...

Need some advice from you wiley riders....

How do I get my wife to mow the lawn while I go for a ride on Saturday's???  I would prefer an inexpensive solution.  This is the first year I have had my lady during mowing season and I can already see there is going to be some conflicts.

Any help out there???

Oh, and I am not looking for advice from the lady riders - not sure I would like it.

Not gonna help ya' much on getting her to mow, but if ya' wanna combine your riding with your mowing, you could always go this route:

The trick is to sustain an "injury" that precludes you from pushing the mower, but not from riding.  You have to be careful when selecting, because you also want one that heals quite slowly.

You guys need to have some kids ... they mow, you pay them and go riding, problem solved.

Can't help you there, the kid thing is real expensive, but when they get older you can take them on rides with you.

#1 Get the grass cut on Friday evenings.

#2 Go riding on Saturday all day.

#3 Suck up the "Hell Raising" Saturday night thru next Thursday.
The next Friday she won't be raising hell because you will be out cutting the grass again.

#4 Repeat steps 1-3 on a weekly basis.

Reread the old classic Tom Sawyer.  Study on the psychology of how he got the neighborhood boys to paint the fence for him by convincing them it was fun.   Shocked

If this doesn't work, offer to be her sex slave on evenings of her choosing (with the appropriate wine).  angel

If this doesn't work, offer to pay her $20 an hour.   crazy2

If this doesn't work, mount some lights on the mower, and do it yourself at night.     2funny

Tried that - but they grew up and left the house and the mower behind......

Well, I bought her some leather gloves and steel toed boots and some safety glasses.  I added some bling to the safety glasses.  I am hoping she gets the hint.

Well south of the Rio Grande, it would at least be a special dinner!

But I forgot the "buy her something special" comment above... Plus, she might want to ride with you!

Make a command decision. You're going to save gas (soon to be $5.00 per lawn), let it grow and sell the hay to a local beef operation. Good for the ecology, good for the food chain, good for the bank account.

Make money from your lawn instead of spending it on mowing.

I've been politicking to continue my lawn care duties, but change my role in those duties to Coach of the lawn care team. It was quickly noted that writing a check was not considered mowing the lawn.... more to follow 2funny
