I took a ride this weekend from Tomball to Port Lavaca and back. I ate breakfast in Bellville's Neumans Bakery and rode from there (mostly backroads). When I passed by Round Top's city square there was a large group of motorcycle riders with a pretty impressive large patch on the back of thier jackets. I cruised by them to see who they were..................The BLUE KNIGHTS international police officers riding club. Their patch is impressive, large, and states Texas Chapter. .......................................................................................I got tickeled and thought..............."WONDER HOW MANY OF THOSE PATCHES THE 1%'ERS HAVE RIPPED OFF THEIR BACKS"...............hahahaha

I think all MC's are familiar with and pretty much ignore the Blue Knights, Red Knights, and HOG patches. It's an unfamiliar patch that will catch their eye. If a "riding club" member threatened any St. Louis based MC with a gun, they would end up as chum in the Mississippi. I think your story about the Goldwing rider was made up to cover the fact he s*it himself during that incident.

I'd be scared too in that incident.....but just where do you draw the line????? ok...so he just took your jacket. He thinks "That was easy so now I want your bike"....you gonna give him your bike too? Then he thinks "Man, this guy is a pushover so give me your wife/girlfriend" you gonna give him her too????? Gotta draw the line somewhere. You draw the line at not doing something stupid or ignorant to begin with! Wearing a territorial patch, or something that looks like it, is similar to wearing a "white power" T-shirt in Harlem. Either is not a good idea if you want to stay out of trouble.

Thank you to everyone that responded to my post. I did not intend on stirring up such a poop storm! Thank you for letting me know about the patch issue. As I am new to being in a riding club, I am still learning "the rules." this has helped me to avoid a similar incident. Sadly, I don't think that I will be able to attend the GOTF. After all, if it is a gathering of the FOOLS, I would be your KING!

Squidly, I live in Huffman just across lake houston we need to get together with Keepinon(Porter) and Blotar (Crosby) and do some riding and eating soon. Is you handle Navy related? if so I was also a squid in the early 70s.
That sounds like a plan, Mr Bubbles. It will be tricky, as I am working for "tha man" six days a week. I am an at&t lineman. I do, however, usually have Sundays off. Maybe we can to get together for a ride out toasted your neck of the woods. I have reaallllyyy been wanting to get together for a group ride. Up until now, I have either ridden alone or with my brother. It would be fun to get into a group of Valks for a couple of miles.

DANG BOBO....i think i have found a subject yu and I can agree on. I have ridden many many miles in my life in and around the 1 percenters at many rallies and road stops and have never had a problem with them . I don't wear patches to begin with, nothing against that though, just my personal preference. If I did wear patches I'd refrain from wearing them around the 1%'ers just to keep peace in the motorcycle world. I surely wouldn't want someone else to get hurt because I was trying to prove a point. On this subject I think I'll take the Rodney King approach....... "WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST ....GET ALONG"
