Am wondering if anyone has a pair of rails for the top of the hardbags.  Houdini, I'm assuming you picked up some last weekend and hope that worked out well for you.  Could possibly just trade out the lids if there are any available on a black tourer.

Had a great time by the way at the Bikers against Road Rage yesterday.  Timbo and Jackie were there.  Blessings

Christbiker,

I found a set of chrome rails for the top of your hardbags from a German Valkyrie Vendor. You might want to call or e-mail and find out the cost in U.S. dollars and what the shipping might be. Here is the link. Good luck.

Not OEM, but OEM are scarce as hen's teeth these days.

Not OEM, either, but might work.  At 19" x 5.5", they are even bigger than the rare 4-rail Cobra bag lid racks (18" x 5.25").

PRICEY!  That's insane.

Woody, if you are patient start searching Craigslist every day.  I found a set of HondaLine bag rails still in the package a few months back for $100.  Unfortunately my Explorer fried an axle bearing on the way home that day and I forgot to call the guy back to make the arraignments to pick the rails up.

If I were you and having OEM wasn't important I'd grab the ones that Disco listed, you can't go wrong for $49.

Don't forget the shipping!   Cheesy   But that's what I was thinking.

At 19" overall length, that's close to covering everything from the hinge to the latch.  To my eye, the critical dimensions are the fore/aft spacing of the mounts and the mount height.  It looks like they'll fit, but they are flat and the lids are curved.  For the money, I think I'd take a chance and make them work.

There's is a thread on the main board called "my fat lady has a new @ss". The owner goes by the handle Reb. He was able to put these chrome rails on his rear fender and saddlebags. I think he had to fabricate a bracket to make them fit. Looks pretty good to me. Here is the link to the rails that he installed.

Just FYI, rails go around the bags, racks go on top the bags.

I stand corrected. I should have caught that.     uglystupid2

Thanks to all of you.  What a helpful group!  I have a call into the $49 gang to answer some Q's.  Agree with Disco, if overall is 19" X 5.5" my concern is the dimensions of the fore/aft mounts.  I think I can adapt a rubber washer or something to compensate for the curved vs straight issue.  For $67 me thinks it worth a try.  Blessings

Update for anyone who might care.  Called the company (Mutazu Motorcycle Accessories, Inc.) direct that was listed on the Ebay bid and was told I could order the rails straight from them.  They even went out to the warehouse and measured the distance between mounting pegs for me.  I think they'll fit.  For $69 per pair (the last bid on Ebay was for $70 go figure), I'll make it work.  $18 for shipping and they were going to try to send them today with a Saturday arrival.  Will let all know how this develops, but so far I am pleased with the customer service and certainly the price if they are all they're supposed to be.  Blessings

I know these cost more but I found them on Honda Directline website. They are made for the valkyrie. Not sure if they are still producing them. Here is the link.

When I clicked order they went into the cart and asked me to choose a shipping method.  Aren't those the small ones lots of guys use for a solo rack?

They are small.... look similar to, but will not work as a solo rack.... four legs (lid mount), instead of two (existing seat mounts).

The ad says that they are mini racks that attach to the lid of the saddlebags.    Smiley
