I'm in the market for a compact tire pump to carry. I've seen 2 that Slime sells. One is quite small and cheap. Can it handle the job of inflating a tire without crapping out? Anyone have experience with them? Other sources? I don't really want to spend a lot of money (I've seen some upwards of $100!) on something I hope I will never need but then again I don't want to kick myself for not spending a few more bucks if an inexpensive one does not do the job. Also how about the Slime juice stuff? Does it really work?

It's been reported that the slime corrodes the wheels and if you have to repair a tire (mount/remove) it makes a very nasty job.
The inflaters that use a co2 cartridge are small and nice. Takes a couple or more to get rideable pressures.

The compact Slime air pump works pretty well, I even used mine to air up a flat truck tire. Instead of using Slime in the tire use Ride On.

I bought multiple air pumps from our local store, Canadian Tire. I waited for a sale, got them for 1/2 off @ $10. Says not to use longer than 10 min, with a 10 min cool down before using again. I have one in my bike, I move to my car during the winter, and one in my wife's and mother's car also.
I found most tires are inflated in the low 30's in 10 min. Has a preasure guage built in.

Bought a compact Campbell/Hausfield {sp} compressor from WallyWorld several years ago. Snipped the cig lighter plug off it & added 2 alligator clips for the power wires. Made a "road emergency kit" up with tire plugging stuff & it goes in the saddlebag of one of the Valks we ride on any trips. I've had to use it twice on my Valk. Pic is from a roadside repair we did on a fellow's HD on the way back from the Starke BikeFest last summer. It spit the plugs out twice during the ride back to the Harley shop & the little cheapy compressor worked like a champ every time! 40 psi in about 3-5 minutes.

I bought a Slime Pump and wanted to use it before packing it in the bike. Pumped one of my Jeep tires to 50 lbs. I run a CT. Packed in the original box it fits in the end of the saddlebag of my Tourer.

I got a very nice compact pump from Wally World for like $20. It works great.
I found out that it needs to be run every 6 months or the piston sticks. It is 4377 to get loose also and then it never worked correctly after that o it became landfill fill in.
I actually got 2, 1 for the Valk and 1 for the Chevy Trike.
At home is 2 big air compressors and if the wife is on the road, we got her a AAA Road service.

I used mine on the whiskey run last year to inflate a valk tier after plugging it. No problems. They do say not to run it longer than 10 continuously without giving it a break.
