I was successful with a trip to one of the local locksmiths, he was able to match it with one of the blanks he had in stock.

There were two different blanks used.  If you can't get the ID off your key, you can look under your gas cap for it.

Yes, you can get the blank from Honda.

I bought a key from honda (HDL) last year

Also, try an Ace hardware or True Value. They have an enormous selection of keys, i was able to get one for my valkyrie there, but no harley key unfortunately. :-(

I have two "nice" Honda ones, and a couple other "generic" ones made at the locksmith from blanks she
had on hand.

I use the Honda ones, and have a emergency generic one in a wallet compartment for when I
loose my key in Texas...  Wink

At any rate, it is easy to get generic ones, and you can order the Honda ones...

My "throw down" key I keep in my wallet after locking the keys in the trunk at the Lone Star Rally in galveston about 4 years ago has some numbers on it.  It says...
ilco usa
X138  -  HD75

I hope this helps you.

I had them made at a vendor while at the LSR AFTER paying a locksmith $75 for coming out to the Galveston Island State Park to unlock the trunk..

Hello locksmith...........   Make sure it is a well supplied mobile one.

When ya get them out, have 2 extras cut.  1 for your billfold in case of a emergency like this.   Also, never throw your keys in the truck, unlock the trunk and put the keys in your pocket.     Step-dad taught me that long ago......

Can I ask  stupid question?

Are you going to try and make a key for your bike yourself?

If they are in the trunk, you don't have a master to copy off of.    RIGHT?

Now back to our normal programming.
