Columbia. On a stretch of rd so untraveled we would go miles without seein another vehicle I decided that would be a good time to set a new "highest speed on a mc. Saw the speedo needle moving over the 130 mark and realized that a rabbit could cause one helluva crash so I backed off.
Also figured when the wife saw me tuck in behind the wind screen that she would tuck in behind me. Wrong Answer! When we stopped again she was holding the straps of her helmet. Seems the wind had pulled on her helmet enough to pull the strap thru the D ring and she was about to lose it. Needless to say she was  tickedoff

1983 V45 Sabre ... not sure if it was the fastest but it was the quickest bike I ever rode/owned.  I never needed to downshift from OD to put the spurs to her ... in fact I almost never had to downshift when I wanted to crack the throttle. Was running around 80 one time when a 5.0 Mustang went flying by .... didn't get that good of a look at the car so just twisted the throttle, caught it in no time, checked it out, twisted the throttle some more and that 5.0 was in my mirrors.

Now I have had the Valk over 100 a few times (1st time was about 4 hours after I bought the bike ... new) but that V45 Sabre just seemed to get there a whole lot quicker.

1991 Yamaha FJ1200.  It was my second bike.  140mph.  I was showing Mad6Gun on his CB900 that there is no replacement for displacement.

Fastest bike I was ever on was a Kawasaki ZX9, riding a demo at the Daytona Bike Week.  Our factory rider had us up to 90mph on the test ride, and she was a babe !   Fastest I've ever been on a bike has been on the Valkyrie, nudged 130mph for ten seconds or so, just to say I did,  and slowed her down.  Thoughts of "what if", like blowout, animal running across road, pothole, etc., crept into my mid-40's brain at the time.

Yea remember that day Bovine talked about above. I was doing approx 115 on my CB900F (speedo stoped at 85) when he past me at 145 on his FJ1200. I rode that FJ a few times. That was the fastest bike I ever rode. I got it too 125 by the time I reached the bottom of a highway on ramp once. That thing was fast. Been to 140 (Approx)in my 1970 Bonneville 455HO. Still had a little engine left. For a big car that thing goes. At that speed it just floats along.....

I've got a boss hoss. 400hp small block don't have any idea how fast it'll run, speedo runs out of numbers before i shift out of low gear. I've seen an et slip for a boss at high 6 at 181 in the quarter mile
