I'm ready to get rid of the dinky leather saddle bags on my   Valk.  I would love to find a set of Interstate bags, but would also consider other possibilities..... What's the next best option?

Tsukayu Products Strong:  These are very close to OE size and shape.  What is most different from OE is the front-leading edge of the bags have more backward curve to it than OE.

Jumbo Strong:

A few US dealers likely have a bit better prices than factory direct. (and checking Evil bay prolly not a bad idea either)

The bags Serk put on his look really good. I think they might be national cycle.

I have seen a couple of OEM sets with all the mounting hardware as low as $800.

I will keep you posted if I see anything on CL

Interstate bags and mounts on the classifieds for $800 and another set for $850

National Cycle hard bags on the classifieds for $490

$1200 for bags, mounts and rails on classifieds

Search all of craigslist - http://www.allofcraigs.com/2009/08/search-all-of-craigslist.html?cx=partner-pub-9413604915893153%3Ao8xsd8d7h7s&cof=FORID%3A11&ie=UTF-8&newwindow=1&q=valyrie+bags&as_qdr=a&sa=Search#1564

And there are some bags listed also.

I checked eBay and there are lots of generic bags for reasonable prices.

Yup, they're National Cycle bags... They're on the less expensive side, and my biggest complaint is the locks/open buttons on them are kinda cheap. I've had to replace them a few times over the years.

The other REALLY nice thing about them is I can have the bags off in about 10 seconds flat, and have 'em back on the bike in about 30 more seconds.

Always meant to get 'em painted to match the bike, it just never happened...

Hey GF!

If that performance bonus is just burning a hole in your pocket, take a look at Champion.  Be sitting down, but if you're considering OEM, you're already in the $$ ballpark.

Champion is the way to go. Your right, you better be sitting down when you check out the price on them.       crazy2

FYI, to my knowledge, a DOT half helmet won't fit in National Cycle bags (maybe a novelty skid lid).   For me, this would be a disqualifier.  Sure you can use a helmet lock, but when it's raining, it's nice to have dry storage.  I also think they mount too far out from the fender.  YMMV

Disco - yes the money has been burning a hole in my pocket for some time and Spring is in the air in Southern Indiana. I don't understand it..... I have been checking eBay, and not finding much, checking the classifieds, and then when I finally give up and post and cry for help and..... Chuck finds them everywhere???? Houdini, if you ever need a new handle it should be "Ebay", “Craig’s List”, or “I Found it  Here!” Your skills amaze me. Thanks for all the input on alternatives, but I did manage to snag a set of Tourier Bags off of the classifieds. Pics of newly painted bags on bike to come. My biggest fear is that they will make my Jarden pipes look dinky!
Thanks again to all……. Miss you guys!

I have been looking for hard bags also and thanks to all for the info.  I found a site called a1hardbags.com they have some nice bags and trunks on there and the cheapest I have found yet.  I am going to order a set of the ga hard bags very soon they are only 115$ but the brackets are sold separate. Just a thought if your still looking around

Hey Chuck,
Thanks for asking, but I'm not in the market for pipes. I have a set of stock Valk pipes in the garage for that classic Valk long pipe look, but I love the gentle rumble of my Jardines. But the Jardines look small on a Valk.

The problem should soon take care of itself. The Jardines are single walled, starting to rust, and hard to clean  Cry

I've got a pair of unmounted strongs I've been meaning to sell for a couple of years if you want to go the less expensive route.  I was originally going to use ghost brackets to mount them to the Valk, but I've been carrying everything, including the kitchen sink, in the trunk of the sidecar instead.  Just a thought.  I'm also a Champion fan.

I'm pretty sure Jim already found some bags, this is an ancient thread.
