I was posting Two Lane Highway tonight and thought about Pure Prarie League....Saw them with Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Atlanta Rythym Section on Mardi Gras night at the Warehouse in New Orleans in 1976.  What a great band - and a lot of folks don't know the guy with the long hair is Vince Gill - of country and western fame......

Worked with Vince Gill many moons ago when I worked at the PBS show Austin City Limits.  At the time I did not connect him with Pure Prarie League...I was soon corrected.  Great show, by the way.

As a side note, I worked with Lou Horvitz-the director of Solid Gold-at the '92 Rebublican National Convention in Houston.  He wanted to have camera operators who knew how to shoot music.  Being an ACL cam-op got me the job.  Shooting the convention was as about as far away from a music show that I could have imagined.  Pretty fun and exciting, nevertheless.

Best speech at the '92 convention-Ronald Reagan, worst speech-Pat Buchanan.

Ozark Mountain Daredevils, haven't heard that name in a loooong time. I was in uncle sams canoe club during their hayday. Some of the memories are kinda fuzzy from that era of my life. Roll Eyes

I used to love to play Amie on the radio, I worked at "Wave 105" in Vero Beach weekend midnight shift from July 1981 to sometime in 1984/85.
On the album, before Amie was a song called "Falling in and out of Love" it would roll right into Amie and if you weren't quick you couldn't separate the two which was fine I just played the two songs together. It gave me a chance to eat or go to the can. Still like the song.
