My guess is you guys are all overlooking something. The article ended by saying the cops were still investigating and looking into the possible relationship between the con and the "victims." While it is not impossible to be a wealthy landscaper, that area is pretty well known for it's drug trade. My gut tells me they were known to each other and it was some sort of "business" deal that went sour.
