I feel your pain, seriously. I had to put my little guy down a couple of months ago (that's him in my sig picture).
He would have been 18 next month and I got him when he was 8 weeks old. He knew more about me than any living human - sure glad he couldn't talk!
I've got his ashes on my fireplace mantle.

These two guys showed up at our place when they were just a few months old... they lasted about
16 years, the one in the foreground (Barney) lasted a bit longer than the one in the back, both great
kitties... it was just a year or so ago when we put Barney down, he was in my lap, it only took about 30
seconds or so for the shot to kick in, he was a sweet kittie up to the last second, and I was boohooing when it
was over.

There's a bunch more kitties out there that need someone who will take good care of them... so now we have
these two:

I feel your pain. The worthless furbal of a male i thought had gone missing showed up the other day-scritched his ears and rubbed his belly-he forgave me.  angel A big 10-4 on all kinds of little kittys up for adoption. Take your time-only you know when your ready for that new furbal in your life. If you don't know-and you is a wonderin-furbal-fur ball as in worthless fur ball-except to said person the furbal has seen fit to adopt and otherwise grace our presence. uglystupid2

Been there. It's not a good feeling at all.  Sad
What keeps me owning these little furballs is knowing how much they give us, & how much good life you can give them back. I am 53 years old & I have never been without a cat in my house, ever.
Still have wonderful good thoughts of all the time I have spent with my cats long since passed.
Number one in my heart still is Buddy. He passed on in Dec. 2004 just 5 months short of his 23rd birthday. He never raised a paw in anger no matter many other cats we brought in during his life.
Buddy is the black & white Sylvester looking guy in the pic. We still have the two little babies now over 8 years old in the chair with him.
Cats, like some people, you can never forget.

Yup. Born in May 1982, Died Dec. 29, 2004.
Actually he was 22. I had 5 cats during the 80's & 90's that made the move up here to Ocala with me. The youngest death was 16 years old, 2 made it past 18, 1 was 19. They all were inside/outside cats about equal time.
I guess I'm a good cat caretaker. Wink
