Me and my Valk at Freedom Rock

« on: March 24, 2011, 08:36:10 PM »

Looking to replace my grips. Currently have heated grips that came with the bike when I bought it. They have become worn and gooey. (Apparently sun screen can react unfavorably with grips)

Anyhow, looking for some leads on grips. Moderate cost, comfortable and a little different than the ordinary common ones.

Also, I've noticed that there are some that require the reuse of the old throttle sleeve. Where do you get one if the old OEM one is unusable or the old grips have the throttle sleeve integrated into the grip and the OEM one is gone. (I don't know this yet, just planning ahead)

Checked out other threads on the subject here but many are rather dated.

Thanks

Kuryakyn ISO grips... Got then on two bikes and have them for the Valk not yet installed.  They let your hands "breath" a little and not sweat as much because for the spaces in between the  rubber inserts.  Others may chime in about them as they are widely used.  Here's a pic on my Ace with throttle bosses both sides for comfort.  Also Kury Pegs.

I have two Valks, one has the Kury Iso grips, the other has the Honda OEM grips.
I prefer the Honda grips.

Wrapping them in tennis racket tape gives a good look and feel.  Cheap and last a couple years.
