Got a nibble from an outfit in for a position in Charleston, South Carolina.
What can anybody tell me about the town?
The good, the bad, the ugly.

Thanks

It would probably be awesome to live someplace old in town, but it would be expensive and there'd
be traffic.

Out in the burbs Charleston is endless strip malls and traffic.

There's beaches, Mount Pleasant, Sullivans Island, Folly Beach... I lived at Folly Beach for a while,
before Hurricane Hugo and the massive insurance money driven development... body surfed
every evening after work... good beaches...

Lots of good food in Charleston, from cheap to expensive...

You can be out in the good old country side pretty quickly. I like riding in the Low Country, it's not
the mountains, but still good.

Lots of history in Charleston, cool old houses, Churches,... traffic...

Was there once on a mission trip. I know what your thinking, fudgie on a mission trip?  Shocked But the town was awesome. It was kinda scary in the bad side but I guess you have that in all big cities. Wish I had more time to explore the history of it. Hope to go back some day.

Naaa not surprised. Even I have done missionary work.
<insert lighting strikes, ground tremors here>
Lots of several years ago in deep south Texas colonias.
a little information: http://www.seco.cpa.state.tx.us/colonias.htm
Most Texans are not even aware these areas exist.
but I was not there to pass the good word, I helped in the building projects.
but this was back before the border area got really rough.
