Any one having a problem with the front brake lever kinda sticking? Mine sticks just enough to make the brake lights come on. Not enough to put pressure on the pads. It doesnt always do it, just sometimes. If I jiggle or just push the lever forward, the brake lights go off. Im guessing it is not the brake light switch.

I bet if you clean it up the problem will go away...Probably just some " funk " in it

I bet if you clean it up the problem will go away...Probably just some " funk " in it  I bet Joe's right... and if de-funking and lubing the lever pivot doesn't do it, go looking for caliper funk... -Mike

While you're "de-funking" it, also check to see if the bushings are worn.

Yep. Or, if you bought it used, check to make sure the bushing is even in there. My son's Valk had replacement levers on it when he bought it. The front brake lever just wasn't right. When I took it apart I discovered there was no bushing it! Evidently the bushing was supposed to have been removed from the stock lever and transferred to the new one.

Had the caliper funk on Kim's Valk. It didn't cause a sticking lever but it dang sure caused sticking front brakes!  Cleaning & lubing does sound like the answer for you.

i had a valk in my garage last summer that was doing the same thing. what i found was the bushing was slightly to long and was binding the handle up on return..took the lever off and filed the bushing down so it was level with the brake handle..greased it and re-installed..everything went back to working normally.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Went for a little 472 mile ride for a burger today. Will ;check on the bushing tomorrow.

had that happen with the goldwing levers....never fit quite right on the brake side and caused the lever to hang up the last little bit. Tried everything and could never get it just right or figure out what the issue was. Went back to the stock levers and the problem went away. It's not safe riding around with the brake light on all the time.
Be careful overtightening either the bolt or the cap. It they are too tight it will pinch the lever and cause this type of problem. Hopefully, a good cleaning and lube will fix yours up.

Guess I shoulda posted this last year. Sorry Im a slacker...LOL My 99 interstate came with Kuryakyn levers. The problem was when the lever was released it didnt go up far enough to push in the switch for the brake lights. I stuck a cabinet door bumper to the lever and that gave me another 1/16". It works fine. Today while doing a search for the clutch side, I found this thread and decided to check the lever bushing. There is no bushing on the brake side like the one on the clutch side. ALSO, the kuryakyn brake lever is narrower and there was a 1/16" washer on top of the lever. Never took it apart before so I never noticed it. The washer keeps it from floppin around. Here is a pic.
