Will be replacing battery. SAW THE SHORAI LITHIUM BATTERY WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE LITE AND POWERFUL. ANYONE TRIED LITHIUM?  ARE THEY SAFE? BETTER OR WORTH THE COST?  THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY.

I have to do more reading. That is the first I've heard them mentioned. The Lithium battery is responsible (so I've heard) for the smaller cell phones and many other devices. Just did a Google search and got lots of reading.
Can't answer your questions.  I just bought a new battery last spring.

Depends, the Lithium batteries we use in some of our equipment have some pretty heavy warnings attached. They have to be packaged correctly for transport  and think they come under dangerous goods for transport purposes.
Don't think I would like to be seated on top of one of these.
You would need to do some good research on them including how tolerant they are of a varying charging voltage.
Add in I doubt they would come cheap.
Cheers Steve.

That is why I am asking. I found the shoria battery, 2 lbs., 270 C.C.A., but twice the money. I probably will go with the strongest tried and true. I used to be in a club that flies radio control airplanes, they were using a lot of electric planes with lithium batteries. I heard horror stories of fires, even cars that burned up. and at that time some guys were charging these batteries in barbaque pits! Don't wont any risk, but didn't know if technology has caught up.    Thanks guys
