Need help, advice on leak proof fork seals.  I did a search but no luck.  Anybody use the leak proof fork seals? Any input pro or con much appeciated.   Anyone care to comment on progressive fork springs? pro or con, as before any help much appreciated.  Bike is a 98 standard with about 86000 miles. Darn near forgot, any fork oil recommendations?
Thanks

OEM fork seals are real good.

Progressive springs change your valkyrie forks from adequate to awesome.

Good 10 or 15 weight is what most people use, I use 10 with progressive springs filled to
the amount specified in the manual...

with progressive springs whether you use 10 wt or 15wt oil, with the springs out, and the forks straight up and down and fully compressed i fill with oil to 5 1/2 inches from the tom on each fork.

the "SEARCH FUNCTION" would answer a lot of your questions in detail with many more responses including a link I provided showing the differences in fork oils whereas there is no SAE value for the oil weight.  cooldude

I've used "Leak Proof" fork seals on some other bikes (mostly Brit bikes) and they worked very well.

However on both of my Valks I've used the OEM seals.

Don't forget to replace the bushings also.

I'd check the forks for "run out" and I prefer Belray fork oil (with Seal Swell), and +1 on the Progressive fork springs.

Good luck

Apologies already ahead on my ignorance....but what makes Leak Proof seals so special and what is the "patented pressure balance design which means the more pressure exerted, the tighter they seal" as it says in their advertisement ?

I mean, what makes them so special, if any?

Cheers!
