My Audiovox cruise control has stopped working. I think that it has shorted out in the servo motor or the switch. The switch is not waterproof and the smallest amount of water in it would always make it quit working. I have found a Victory Cruise kit on eBay and thinking about trying it.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/09-11-VICTORY-VEGAS-KINGPIN-CRUISE-CONTROL-KIT-2877177-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3a64837b29QQitemZ250794441513QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Anyone had any experience with these yet? Chrome switch that should be able to withstand a shower since it is made for a motorcycle. Anybody???

I don't think that is a complete system, but rather switches for a system already in place. It is described as a plug and play setup in several places that I googled.

says plug an play cruise control, not plug an play switches. Just shows the switches as pictures. I would guess that at 400 retail, it would be the entire cruise control.

If I was going to shuck out $400 for that, I'd go find a MC Cruise from Australia and get it instead.

I've got one on MGM that has been there since the winter of 1998 and 242K+ miles with nary a problem.   It holds the setting you put it on + or - 3 MPH up or down hill.   I love mine.

Uhm...the mccruise is $960...a bit more than 400...

And, the 400 is retail, the ebay price is about 1/2 that, so far...

I wish that I could find the switch that the MC Cruise uses. I really believe the switch is where my problem is. Can't afford $959 for that one.

I helped a buddy of mine install the new electronic Audiovox on his I/S last fall. It works great. Just looking for something that is more weatherproof. Really like the looks of the Victory switch. Wondering if anyone has tried installing one.

I'm not in a place to give too much advice, but will some time tomorrow. Can you give all the symptoms? Switch should be really easy!

More than likely it's your handlebar mounted switch, got moisture in it. Didn't need to happen though, when I mounted mine I separated the two parts that make up the switch box and sealed it with some clear RTV. Snapped it back together and let it dry. Been on there for nearly seven years, in plenty of rain, still works like a champ. The other thing you need to consider if you don't have an I/S....remove the connector that's halfway between the switch and the servo. If you have an I/S that connector will be in the fairing, if not....then it's subject to the elements. Solder the wires together and make sure they're insulated from the elements. Then install a connector adjacent to the servo. Now you will have a waterproof system.

Flashmac, I've got an unused Audiovox switch if you want it.  Click on my avatar and shoot me a email or pm.

I did both of these things but still had problems with moisture. I have power to the switch and the servo but it won't work. The backlight on the switch still lights up but when I punch the ON switch nothing happens. I have checked to make sure that I am getting power from the switch to the servo. But as soon as I let off of the ON button, the power stops. So. I don't know where my problem is.

I haven't worked on it since the Nov. but it is time to get serious about fixing it now. Can't go without my cruise.

I like to keep this simple and easy (KISS).

A lot of riders are using the Vista Cruise throttle lock. I have one on my I/S and it sort of works, but it covers the Kill Switch.

On my Rat Rod, I have the "rooster & Lock" from "Madcorider". It is a piece of M/C jewelry, but only if you see it though. It blends in so well, most don't even see it.

That's a great deal for a full Vic cruise control unit.  I checked around on a couple of Polaris oem parts sites, and the switch unit alone goes for about $135.  Sure would look nice on a Valk if it can be made to fit.
