front end noise only when under load?

took the bike our for the first time yesterday. getting some noise in the front end when accelerating or going up a hill, but when maintaining a steady speed no noise
i'm thinking either the bearings or brakes? any ideas?

Might be a vacuum leak from your earlier work!
Bearing would more or less be a constant thing and brakes could be affected by pulling the brake lever!
Uphill and acceleration, basically the same, except in degree of throttle.
De-smogged or not?
Check you vacuum lines!

no desmogging, I've thought about doing that, but likely will leave well enough alone. All stock.
haven't really played with any vacuum lines

could be. I did have one bolt at the header strip out. I need to get it in (had a thread going about doing it myself) to have a shop do the helicoil. maybe an exhaust leak at the manifold could do it?
