People who have experienced failure are likely to respond and those who haven't are more likely to be complacent and not respond.

Just from the current results, u-joint failure is not a widespread epidemic.  If most of those viewing but not responding have never experienced failure, then the problem is a fly speck in the pepper, so to speak.

Except to those who have been stranded by it, naturally.

   I lost mine in June of last year. I did ride it 1200 miles home from PA to MN via interstate. I made sure to keep it under tension, it was only bad when not pulling or de-accelerating. I avoided side roads and diversions. It was very worn and "blued" from heat when I removed it.
    Honda has them back ordered and has delayed my shipment three times. They now are predicting mid April. That is a long wait from June of 2010.
