Ok, so I dropped my read wheel and found a mess.

Here is what my spline looks like and my ring gear looks the same.

Notice a slight wear pattern developing.  I already have good paste to put on it but the question is, can I trust this to get me through this season?

My initial thoughts are yes and I will replace my final this coming winter.  Any thoughts?

Yeah, I should have checked them when I first bought the bike.

Since the guy before me had taken care of everything else so well, I had no thought that he would have let that go.

You know what they say when you ASS-U-ME!!!

Thanks as always.

BTW, I think it is a good time to pull the shaft and check it too.   Grin

Mine looked about the same when I pulled the wheel for a new tire..cleaned it all up and it was actually in pretty good shape (luckily)...I did not use the paste but a moly type lube grease....the paste seems to dry out/wash out ..hope I haven't generated my own problems from that..have about 4 k on it now and will pull it apart next month to check the drive shaft and ujoint condition while I'm at it...want to be sure I get to Az and Back with worrying about the driveline.
