Alright, I just reinstalled my air box and can not understand why I just don’t replace the whole box with some filter stacks like this;

Would this work?  has anyone else done it????

I was thinking about the very same thing the last few days.

I am sure there must be a good reason that I am just not smart enough to figure out on my own but I also hope somebody answers you ASAP, it will help me also.

You can do it but be prepared for a "LOT" of messing around with jets.
I have opened up my standard airbox and it has taken quite a few jet changes to get close to right.
Currently waiting for some more jets for another go, still a little lean at full revs
I have 125 mains in it at the moment.
Cheers Steve

rejetting all three carb circuits and intake roar can be louder than exhaust noise.
u do know that airfilters last much longer than 12k which is what all auto and oems like to set as a change interval to increase parts sales.

I think this has been discussed before, so you might want to do a search to see.  Are you going to mount them to the velocity stacks in the box, or mount them directly to the carbs?  In either case, you will lose the plenum effect of the airbox, which can cause stumbling at certain RPM's.  You can play with jets, but it will be difficult to match the performance and efficiency of the airbox.  Like was mentioned, you will also get quite a roar at higher throttle, which you may or may not want!

Can it be done? Yes.
Is it easy.? NO.

With that said be prepared to spend effort, time and money to get it right.

And then It may not have been worth it.

If you want much improved performance, Get a blower or bore and stroke the engine. or both.

Or get  another bike.

Just my 2 cents worth.
