GOTF became a business trip for me for a few days after the actual event, and I finally got home yesterday, so... Time to add my pics and memories to the pile from this awesome, as always, event...

Meeting up with MP, CLintDivco and Hoser in Athens, TX (Rainmaker was with me already from a previous meetup)

Valks on the ferry from Bolivar peninsula on to Galveston island:

The ceremonial Lighting of the Olypmic Smoker Friday evening:

Random shots of the fools:

(Serk's parents came down this year to see what all the fuss was about, after hearing me rave about the thing for the last decade)

I'd seen this beautiful Valk before, but hadn't noticed the metallic glimmer effect in the sun. Tried to capture it in a photo, and you can kinda see it, but in the sunlight, in person, it's just..... Wow...

(Proud daddy picture... Humor me... Wink )

When ya' gotta go, ya' gotta go... Or.... "I thought this was the thinking stump!"... Or..... "Serk sure is getting good with that Photoshop thing!"... or... Insert your Own Caption Here...

Spousal unit's sad fill in for a motorcycle this year, but all things considered, I'm just glad she (And the spawn unit) were able to make the trip!

Quick! Name the 1980's band that was the inspiration for this photo!

Once again, MUCH thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Glue for putting this on and putting up with all those fools!

AND let me add extra thanks to the often unheralded helpers in the background. There were a LOT of people running around helping, taking out the trash, picking up, making sure things were where they needed to be, etc. etc... Thanks to ALL!!!!! Can't wait for next year!!

Nice pics, Serk.  Thanks for sharing.  The good news is that your adorable daughter far outshines that "sad fill in for a motorcycle", so your still on the good side of that balancing act.

I wouldn't call it a full washing, as in a detailing or anything remotely like you sick people do, but yeah, I actually got some old socks and some Honda pancake batter and went to town on it a few weeks ago... Funny how shiny things are under there, I'd almost forgotten!

Daniel was considering washing his too, but we were afraid if we BOTH showed up at the Gathering with clean bikes..... Dunno... Just one of those things, best not to tempt the universe like that, ya' know?  coolsmiley
