I am a HUGE Ford fan!  I would love to have one, even an older one.  BUT, one small problem, with 800 HP, the article never mentioned how they would get that power to the ground.  Those tires would last about 5 minutes.  Granted, it would be a great deal of FUN in that 5 minutes...  That's why the ZR1 and Z06 guys are saying that they can outrun the Stang.  They have HUGE rear tires to handle "most" of their horse power.

Now I will go on my "drooooling" way.

Once muscle cars went past the 30K mark I lost all interest. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy they are building them because the tech seems to trickle down to other cars and improve the breed. Of course there is a market segment that can afford 40-100k rides but I'm not one of them Sad . The best thing about really expensive cars is that the original owners treat them like a trophy and don't drive them. Then 10-12 years later I can buy one for a third it's original cost Grin. That was the only way for me to buy this,

You are so right John!  I just bought this 2005 SL 500 with 40,000 miles and a clean CarFax for less than a third of what it cost new.   cooldude cooldude cooldude

Did anyone notice:

Among the many upgrades used to make this kind of power is a Shelby/Kenne Bell supercharger,
which, not surprisingly, voids any remaining powertrain warranty from Ford.

If you can afford to buy, insure, and maintain a $100K car, I'm betting that you don't give a hairy rat's backside about warranties.
