Tens of millions of yen in cash and hundreds of locked safes have been handed in to police stations across northern Japan by people sifting through the debris of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere other than where I live, but there sure are some awesome aspects to their society over there...

Hey Stanley,

You could just pull the cover and inspect the timing belts.

At least that might give you some peac of mind if you're worried about them.

The general school of thought there seems to be not to worry about them until you have 100k on them.

They still remember what honor is...  out society unfortunately has largely forgotten the meaning.

Stanley, who are you trying to find belts through, the dealer?

NAPA, Oreilly's, Auto Zone, Pep Boys and a few other retail parts houses have them in stock for a 4377 of a lot less $$$$.   I'm on my 2nd set of Gates that I got from Oreilly's.

Part # 275.

Here is a good link to save and then use to save a bunch of $$$ for more chrome...

Rock Auto has them for $15-16 each.  Do a Parts Search for Gates T275.

Yep. Honor and integrity still live here, but not as strongly as they once did or should.

Evidently it's in the Japanese culture.

Respect and integrity are going away here in the US.

Yeah, I know.

Also did you notice more and more elected officials are doing the same, both legally and illegally?

Maybe they all should've have had their arse beat like a Tom Tom when they were young.  It generally strightened kids up. Not legal now and don't ask me how I know. Smiley

Stanley, they can overnight the damn things in cheaper than you will pay Honda and in the process be getting a better belt.

Thatis is also strange as 4377, all of our parts stores carry them and we are not a great big load of Valkyrie's around.     Gee, I'll bet they fit something else, wha cha think?

Tell them to get off their arse and order them.    Be pushy with them.   They are there to serve you, not screw ya.

WOW, Was it just me, or did other people get dizzy trying to read this thread, it wasn't just hijacked, but it actually was two separate topics altogether, I actually had to read it twice to make sure it wasn't two different ones mixed together by a computer glitch. lol

I know the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor & made war upon the world in a very despicable way many years ago however.... It's examples like this of their behavior as a culture that make me respect present day Japan even more.
It's no wonder to me that a culture like the Japanese, combined with American design & know how, could have made a motorcycle as good as the Valkyrie.
