I've never really paid much attention to what it is, I had my Tourer and was happy with it.  Now that I've got some other options with the other two, I'm thinking of doing a Super Valk or something like it.
Assuming there is one, can anyone give me a definition (and pic's) of what a "Super Valk" is?

Thanks;
Bill

The term "Supervalk" refers to taking the trunk off of an IS.  It is a fairly straight forward adventure but you do need to purchase a few pieces from a standard or tourer...like a rear fender wiring harness and taillight.  When I performed this on a friends valk, we made the trunk easily reattachable by notching the mounting rails where they attach to the rear fender.

Here is a set of instructions I found on the web by searching "SuperValk":

A supervalk is only referred to a Interstate that has had the trunk removed....some say that if it can't be put back on with a quick change set up it should not be called a supervalk.....I finally figured out where this name came about....remember superman use to go in the phone booth and remove his civil clothes and out popped superman, same with the valk, remove the trunk..out pops supervalk...now if superman no longer put the civil clothes back on would he no longer be superman?...of course not, therefore any Interstate with the trunk removed whether permanent or with the quick release is a Supervalk... cooldude

Okay, so to make my Tourer a "SuperValk" wanna be, I need to add an I/S fairing and lowers?  Won't be a full super cause I won't have a trunk?  That sound right?

It was an unfortunate choice of terms.  If the original idea man had called his creation a Valkyrie Convertible then no one would have contested him, but people take offense at being told that someone else's Valk is "super" and theirs is something else.

I like the term "maverick", but then aren't all Valkyries, to some degree, mavericks?
