Yeah It's the same national number that I put my landline and cell on it and it didn't work for me. It really burns me up almost having a wreck to answer the cell and it will be a telemarketer! tickedoff The last one I got I hurt my own ears yelling at him!

I believe it does not stop in-State solicitation.

Hey Neil. So far I haven't had many calls from telemarketers. I got rid of most of them by using the do-not -call thingy and by using the law which states that if you tell them "Please put me on your do-not-call list" they must comply or face some pretty heavy fines.
Generally they stop calling but I had one of those for-hire boiler room operations that kept calling me for different "charity" organizations. If you ask, they are required by federal law to tell you the name of the company they actually work for. So a few years back I got yet another call soliciting donations and I asked the guy who he worked for. So then I told him..."This is the fifth time your company has called me and each time I have asked "ASC" (or whatever it was) to put me on their do-not-call list. If I hear from you again I'm calling the FCC and reporting you....." He hung up on me then and I haven't heard from them since.

The down side is I realized that all my friends are like me...not big on phone calls. In fact, the girl who had this cell number before me gets more calls than I do   Embarrassed Undecided Roll Eyes2funny crazy2

If I don't recognize the phone number, I don't answer the phone. Telemarketers won't leave a message generally, so I don't spend any time answering calls I am not interested in. And I never set up my answering machine for my cell, so no problem! cooldude

When I moved to my current location and bought a house (mortgage/tax info is public), I received up to 20 calls a day for solicitation (pre no-call-list days).

So I put this on my answering machine (for years), and screened all calls.

"If you are a friend or acquaintance, or someone I'm currently doing business with go ahead and leave a message...... if not, take me off the list and do not call back.  If you do call back, I'll hunt you down and kill you.  Have a nice day."   It worked pretty well.
