Hello everyone. This is my first post...

After years of wanting for a Valkyrie, I finally found my dream in Bull Head City, Arizona.
It's a Black Standard 2000... just turned 36K miles.  Shocked

Purchased it on March 18, 2011 and rode it home to Los Angeles (270 miles)...

During the trek we were baptized by mother nature with rain, sleet, fog, more rain...  Roll Eyes
It was the ultimate ride from hell...  laugh but I did it for "ODIN."

ODIN: http://home.earthlink.net/~werewolfking/Valkyries/Valkyries_Myth.htm

Since I got it home I've gone nuckin' futs over it... lot$ of acce$$orie$ and more to come.
Here is a sequence of changes from day one ... first 30 days.

NOTE: I am storing all the items taken off so I can change its looks at will.

I look forward to the correct way of sharing photos.

Hello Paxton, nice to see another Cali owner!

Good work on the ride. That's the thing;  make it your own.

You should check out the SoCal Valk group on the regional board, they do rides every month.  I believe they're coming up my way to Solvang on the 30th.  Great bunch of guys.

Hope to catch some wind with you sometime, and welcome to the madness!

Quite a change in a short time.  cooldude  How come the last picture(didn't look at all of them) is reversed?  The radiator hose is on the wrong side.

The sword is a poor attempt to fit-in w/the Valkyrie MYTH-Theme.  ???

Read this link: http://home.earthlink.net/~werewolfking/Valkyries/Valkyries_Myth.htm

PS:
Just got the 11.5" progressive rear shocks... a drop from stock 13."

Comments on appearance and immediate plans are most welcome...

Got poor reviews on the checker decals. The son wants the "Hearst-Look."
Also installing a quick-release Black Drag Bar.
I am considering powder-coating the wheels -- Satin Black.

Any thoughts?

Welcome to the board.  Send a pic of the "Wing"

Well, I always take lots of pictures of my toys.

In this link you will see my 75-78 vintage Gold Wings of years past.

https://picasaweb.google.com/103917731019176896112/GoldwingGL1000Madness?authkey=Gv1sRgCM3G7bbc2ND_PA#

In 2007 three childhood friends purchased one each. We rode them all from LA to Orlando, Florida.
From there they shipped together to Puerto Rico, where they now live.

The following summer (2008), I rode the '75 Red one on a 10-week-Solo-Trek throughout the USA.
Logged 9K miles. Traveled a lot at night... average speeds 106 mph for hours on end! NO police

IN SUMMARY: To me, a Valkyrie is a naked Gold Wing on Steroids!  Undecided

Thinking 'bout doing my 12th cross-country trek this summer...
This time, it'll be the Valkyrie for eight weeks... Sleepin' bags at rest stops.
Cheap motels every other day. Crash at friends' homes along the way...  ???
Shower at truck stops.... 4th of July at New York's Central Park; a superb blast!  Cool

Face the wind across the USA... "been there done that" 11 times... and it is a heck of an adventure
for a shrimpy 5'6" old Dude. A 235 pound-sack of Cuban Food!   uglystupid2

Glad to be... somewhere... alive!

John;

I have the Solvang trip on my schedule but won't make up my mind 'till a day or two before...
Need to reverse my schedule...

I am a day-sleeper. Usually go to bed at 6:00 AM, up by 3:00 PM... breakfast at 4:30 PM...
... like that for the past 4 years. To join the Solvang trip I must be rested.

We'll see.

ANSWER: IT is a right hand model!  Cheesy

In truth, the photo was "flipped."
