We decided to ride this route from Wytheville to the hotels in Pa. on Thursday...we'll be leaving out of the house around 7 A.M. should be at the TA Truckstop by 7:30 then we'll head north approx. 308 miles, I'll be riding my tourer so to get a better idea how far we can go at hwy. speeds to determine the fuel stops....I believe the 1st stop from Wytheville will be at Troutville TA Truckstop north of Roanoke....then somewhere north of Harrisonburg...I'll post all the stops after the run along with a cross section map....anyone looking to join in give me a hollar and we'll set something up.....this is kinda of a last minute decision, but something that needs to get done....stay tuned...

you should'nt have to go any farther north than harrisonburg to figure your stops. at the last exit in virginia just before west virginia..there is a big flying j truck stop. that will be mile marker 323.. can't remember how many pumps they have..i'm thinking 8 or 10.

Coming from Michigan, I was thinking of hanging out at the rest area just across the VA border and joining up as you rolled by, but if there is a gas stop near there, we'll plan to hook up at that.  Please let us know exits where you'll be stopping and approximate times if possible.  Looking forward to this.

Thanks Rick...you may have made it a shorter trip for us....depending on how we feel we still may go on to the hotels just to get the lay of the land so to speak.....Skinhead if we use the stop Rick is talking about that would be a good place to wait on us...as far as times go everything is going to be based on when Joe and his group get to Wytheville from Knoxville...we'll know more the closer we get to the ride dates, we'll keep you all informed..

I would love to hook up with you guys tomorrow.

But, I have other obligations.....  Sad

If you wind up going on Fri instead let me know.

FYI: Exit 150 is a good exit with lots of options for fuel.

If you should find that exit 150 is pushing it on your fuel supply, exit 128 has two good options for refueling.

There is a gas station to the right and a small truckstop to the left.

Hey Dave....to answer your question..no it was not my intentions to stop by the hotel....we could set up a time to meet at the truckstop, because Joe probably won't be there till late morning....they have a large breakfast buffet at the truckstop maybe we can do a breakfast before he gets there...I figure by the time they get there they will need a pretty good break, their covering over 200 miles coming from Knoxville....let me know...say do you know how many are going to be at the hotel?

Well that didn't work out!
Took the trike and went into work at 4:00 am to get off early and ride down past harrisonburg.  Just made for a longer day at work.  Everything that could go wrong did.  Anyway If you need any help from the Md/Pa side let me know.

Don...I didn't realize the motel is located very close to the truck stop..That's a good thing...I called the Wythville Days Inn to check on riders who have signed up...She was very nice, but not being a fixed group ie. bus load ect.. it is difficult for her to get a count of Blue/Grey reservations. On my reservation it says "motocycle group discount" @ less than $50.00. I think she said $44.00. All remains  the same and if riders call and say Blue/Grey or motorcycle group, they will recieve the discount. She said the motel is wide open 06-11-09, so not too many riders have made reservations for the 11th. Seems like she could have gone to a list for 6-11 and gone from there, but that's OK.

Anyway, I will find riders who have checked in when I get there and make sure we all go to the TA truck stop the 12th AM with plenty of time to chow down before the 10:30 meeting time...I see you will be at the truckstop about 7:30.....see you there.

Probably like Va Bch we kidded about...I'm the President, Vice President, Secretart/Treasurer of the Va Bch VRCC who has one member ...MEEEE !    cooldude
