Abate of Wi. Region 7B is having a cycle awareness day this Sat. by the mall north of Interstate 94 & by US 53. 12-2pm. All are welcome. I know of 7 Valkyrie Riders in Eau Claire & Chippewa Falls I hope if you see this you'll come out we will start setting up at 11:30. The Weather hasn't been real accomadating yet this year but next week the weather will change a lot. Bring some money as I also will have some Poker Run books to sell for a summer long Poker run in Buffalo, Chippewa, Eau Claire, Dunn, & Pepin Counties. Roberta & me set up all the stops. I'll give more info. in another post. Come out to show some support

The month of May has been declared "Motorcycle Awareness Month" in MI for years now.
But the Federal funding to promote "Motorcycle Awaremess" has billboards that are a slap in the face to us bikers. The Billboards say "Ride Safe, so you can Ride Again". Just how does that make motorists aware of the rights of the motorcyclists?

Holy crap man ! Who in the hell puts those up? Thats crap. Guess I'll have to leave a note on Abate of Mi. forum. As have been a member one year & a 17 yr. member of ABATE here they have allowed me to get on their forum. In wi. ABATE puts them up and we get sponser's to pay for them. On another note we have a bunch of members going to the schools and doing a outstanding job teaching motorcycle awearnes in the drivers ed classes and it really wakes the kids up. we are not going in all schools however, just where we are allowed but the prograhm is gaining alot of attention.

I have gone into drivers education schools to teach MC Awareness, and my wife is becoming a certified MSF instructor.
As riders we need to be aware of our rights. I am an ABATE, AMA, and MRF member and I have applied to the Michigan Confederation of Clubs.
We have rights and prevledges that we must protect.

Sounds like a worthy cause. But do any cagers go to a motorcycle awareness event? Seems like they're the ones these events are aimed at (??)

Sorry Greg, I'm out of state right now and won't be back until Monday.
Did your Interstate make a full recovery from the near-incident with the deer?

I agree its feels like a dig to those of us that ride responsibly. I have to think the person that penned that phrase had the vision of a sport bike doing a high weelie @ 90mph on the interstate weaving in and out of traffic in mind.
