Sorry for the post on the classifieds,I forgot which topic I was in.My whistle problem is still here though.I moved from a tourer to an 01 Interstate this spring and have a whistle when riding that I can't seem to find.It seems to vary with wind speed, direction and wind gusts. It seems louder to me on my left side.Just checking to see if anyone has run into this before.Any help or thoughts are greatly appreciated.TIA,Hamman

My 03 std whistled pretty good (bad?) and I tracked it down to the front turn signal stem. I wrapped a piece of velcro around them..problem solved. While it's whistling, put your hand on your turn signal and see if the noise stops.

My 03 standard was also a whistler. It was my right front turn signal. I put a piece of clear tape on the amber lens 4-5 years ago and haven't heard a whistle since (unless somebody is telling me how purty a Valk is!)

On my IS I had a whistle in the air intake on the fairing. Where the fairing meets the vent there was a gap and it was causing the noise. I put a narrow strip of tape over the gap by reaching in from the front. That stopped my noise. Might put a rag in the vent and take a ride and see if the noise goes away. If it does thats where the issue is. If not keep looking.

If you are riding and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

I also noticed a whisle/whine from my '99 I/S. I put my hand over the vent while riding, noise stopped. Put a piece of foam in the vent like BigM, no more noise. Been there for going on 4 years. It also stops the Yellow Jackets from coming thru the vent
