I need a new car for when I cannot ride my Interstate (now it is Valk related).  Does anyone have a Honda Accord coupe?  How does it ride compared to something larger.  What do you like/dislike about it.  Any information provided would be appreciated.

I work for Honda Corporate so I can be opinioned that way, however I have been around the retail Honda side since 1981, and the latest generation of Accord coupe is by far the best, particularly with a V6. I have a 2011 now, and it flies.  Extremely comfortable and fun because of the power. The previous generation was fine, but had trans issues and many feel the styling was not good. 1997-2001 generation was also great, but the current model is fantastic!

My suggestion, V6 auto or 4CYL stick. Go drive one, you'll be impressed.

My 1988 Accord is still running strong.  I drive it almost everyday now that gas is so high.  I can go twice as far on a gallon as my F-150 and it is comfortable as well as fun to drive.  I used to have a 2005 Accord as well but my kids totaled that one.

We bought a new '08 Accord in '08 and it was a real POS! Sold it before it had 18,000 miles on it. My son's '08 Civic is another story. He put 65k miles on it the first year and a half and it now has about 80k on it. It runs like a top.
But for me, I will not ever buy another Honda car.
Just my opinion.
Good luck with what ever you decide.

My wife drove a Civic for two years and traded it for a 2011 Accord Coupe at Christmas.  She loves it and it has a lot more room for me.  Rides well but not like a large car.

Last week I donated my 1988 Accord (first year of the Accord Coupe) to a friend in dire need.  Kiss

I owned it for 16 years and it now has 119K miles. Rides to Vegas at 90 MPH in cruise control
and still gives 33 MPG at those speeds. It is a 5-speed-manual 4 cylinder.
It is zippy and has good handling characteristics. Loaded w/all options except sun-roof.  Cool

It has a HUGE trunk. With the rear seat dropped, it offers enough space for a dead body,
two sets of golf clubs... and a fat mother in law!  crazy2

A coupe is great if you generally drive alone or with one passenger.
If you regularly carry people in the back seat, then it is a bit of a hassle... not a deal-killer, though.

I have owned 3 Accords, 1988 and 1990 coupes; and a '99 4-door sedan.  cooldude
All excellent cars! The interior is surprisingly cavernous and handles 4 adults with ease.

I love the new V-6 Coupes but I hear from owner-friends that while fun, they are not that fuel efficient.  Cry

All things been equal, I'd go with the 4-cylinder coupe. coolsmiley

I have a 2008 Honda Accord v6 Couple, 6 speed manual.
It has a nice, tight ride, handles well (but it is a pretty heavy car), has lots of interior room (back seat is awkward to get into), but the gas mileage is only about 26 on the highway.
Performance is very strong.  With the traction control turned off I can smoke the tires through 1st, 2nd, and part of 3rd gear.  A second gear roll-on will smoke the tires, also.  The engine is very smooth, with a sound like a muted Honda F1 engine (which is kind of what it was based on).  Fit and finish is top notch.  The leather seating on the EX-L trim is supple.  Better than my 2005 Accord was, and 10 times better than my 1993 Bonneville.
However, no car is perfect.  Being a front wheel drive car it does understeer when pushed hard in a turn.  Also, the shifter is not as firm-feeling as a rear wheel drive car(since it's got longer linkages to the transmission).  Gas mileage is not great.  Expect 18 city, 26 highway.  My mixed driving gets about 23.5 mpg.  Of course, I am not gentle on the throttle.  My car had a few issues:  the worst was a balky 3rd gear synchronizer.  Also, the 3rd brake light had some rattles along with the rear hat shelf due to the subwoofer when playing bass-heavy music tracks.  The stereo has a great sound, though.  Very good highs and lows.  Headlights could be better, but switching to those ultra white bulbs might help.
Climate control system is top notch, will hold temp nearly perfectly even on the hottest days.  Seat heaters, however, are slow to warm up in my opinion.  The GM cars I have driven warmed up faster.  Rear window defogger is also a bit slow, but the mirror de-icers are great.  With the sunroof and windows down, buffeting is not bad even on the highway.  With all windows closed, the car is quiet, except for road/tire noise which is a bit loud.  But all of my Accords were that way.
Basically, I love my car.  It's easily the best car and best Accord (I have had a 1999, 2005, and this 08, all coupes) I have ever owned.
