Didn't want to hijack hubcapsc's petcock thread.

On a cowboy forum I hang out on, we have an occasional thread entitled "Cowboy Karma". If you've got a piece of gear, an item of clothing, gun parts or ammo you don't have guns for and you don't want to go thru the hassle of ebay, gunbroker, the classifieds, etc., you just offer it free to anyone who wants it. Set a time limit for folks to respond, then draw a name from those who responded and mail it off to him/her. All the recipient has to do is agree to do the same when/if he has the chance.

Well, I've got the chance to pay it forward in exchange for some stuff I've received and restore my karmic balance. I have an Audiovox cruise control installed on my Valk that I simply do not use. The couple of times I have used it, I felt I was giving up some control of the bike and I didn't like that. The unit was installed by the guy I  bought the Valk from and is several years old.

Soooooooooo, if you could use this, here is your chance. I have the box, some parts left over from the install, etc. Here's the catch - and it may be a big one - I do not feel mechanically experienced enough to remove this gear and restore my Valk to original condition. Whoever wants this and gets their name pulled from the hat will have to do the removal/restoration. I can arrange to be in Knoxville for the removal or it can be done here in Fayetteville, TN at my house. Other than putting my '98 Tourer back to normal, there will be no charge to the winner of the drawing.

I will make the deadline for throwing your name into the hat this Friday, April 29th, at midnight, Central Time. All names should be submitted by responding to this post - no PM's or emails, please. Since I have a two-day cowboy shoot starting very early Saturday morning, I may not announce the winner until Sunday night/Monday morning.

Good Luck!!

Bama Red,
Please put my name in the hat!  I can help with the removal although I have never done a cruise control before.

If Jess helps you remove it, then please put my name in the hat.  But I can't make the trip from Florida right now, so don't add me otherwise.

If I win, I guess I'll pay forward with the Brakeaway I'd be removing........

Love to be on the list, but sadly a little far from Tampa, Fl for removal.  Sad

We have three entries: Dubsvalk, Chiefy (if Jess does the removal) and Walkure.

Y'all just hang on - I'm gonna go have my wife pull The Winner's name out of the cat food bowl! 2funny

Dubs, PM me and we'll decide when and where you can claim your prize (I'll lend muscle power, sweat and a tiny bit of blood) and maybe share some wind together!

My congrats to Dubs,,,and a big High 5 to you Bama for the fine offer....I'd have joined in for the prize but Wa state is too far from Fl to make it reasonable....

Again, a sweet , sweet gesture.

The cruise control is something I just didn't have much use for and in the time I've had the Valk, I've only used it twice and then for less than ten minutes each time.

I knew the Audiovox unit is liked by a lot of riders and is no longer in production, so why not let someone who will use it have it? Otherwise, that cruise control woulda just sat on the Valk rusting away. Sad

Besides, my karmic balance was a tad askew. This'll help some! cooldude

Sweet!! Sweet??!?! Hehehehe....you obviously have never met me!! tickedoff 2funny

Ditto! That's a great thing you done!

I'm a firm believer in "comes around, goes around"...your karmic balance took a big leap foreward.
