My cousin’s daughter is now on life support, and will be turned into an organ donor by the end of this day.  She was 22 years old, and just had a child.  They had just had dinner at my cousins house (her father) and were on their way home. The driver, her boyfriend supposable ran a red light and was killed on the spot.  It’s all hearsay, since dead men tell no tales.

This happened yesterday evening near New Port Riche, north of Tampa Bay Florida.

My cousin has had nothing but lousy luck his whole life.  I don’t know why this guy has to go through all that he has.

  So sorry for your family.  Such a tragedy.  Family will bear the anguish forever.

  News reports say that witnesses stated motorcycle ran light.  Makes it even worse that innocent passenger is lost due to driver error.

many of you know that i'm not a praying guy.  but i do greatly apprciate the well wishes.  i feel for my cousin.  if you knew what he's lived through, what garbage luck he's had.  it just kills me to think that it's just "bad luck".

the funeral's on saturday.  i won't beable to go, but i will be thinking about my cousin.

i found out that he did run a red light, and hit the back of an SUV, so it was his fault.  still, wasn't her fault, she didn't do anything wrong.

Words...I'm at a loss. But I have to say I would be proud of her being an organ donor. One last selfless act and an indisputable proof of her love for others.

Thoughts to ponder in such sad day...

THE DASH
(By Linda Ellis)

I read of a man who stood to speak at his sister's funeral.

He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth; then spoke of the second date with tears.

But he said what mattered most of all … was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth.

And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not how much we own... the cars, the house, the cash …

What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard. Are there things you'd like to change?

For you never know how much time is left, that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real;

And always try to understand the way other people feel;

And be less quick to anger, and show appreciation more;

And love the people in our lives like we've never loved before…..

If we treat each other with respect, and more often wear a smile;

Remembering that this special dash might only last a little while…

So, when your eulogy is being read with your life's actions to rehash:

Would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash?

God didn't bring this tragedy, but He can and will bring the families and loved ones through it. I'm praying those remaining will take Him up on it.

God Bless,
