Obviously the two side covers get gone first.

Then theres bolts holding it to the frame.

You will need to remove teh tip sensor from the back side.

Lastly unhook the key/lock thinggy so it can go away and leve the linkage behind'

you should be ready to fish it out of there, now there is a hold down....rubber gromet thinggy I believe down there at the bottom somewhere so you have to kinda yank it out of its plug-in if my memory serves

Thank you for that information, it was indeed the grommet on the bottom that I could not see. Got it out for painting, thanks for the help.

Now remember that the Bank Angle sensor has a top and bottom. There have been those who have remounted it upside down only to find that the bike will not start. Cheesy

the bank angle sensor should be marked "this side up," right?

There's a way to tell if you look close, I don't remember exactly... if you don't look close,
the way it "obviously" (to me anyhow) goes on is wrong.

That's whole center cover thing is the spawn of the devil as far as I'm concerned  Smiley ...

I covered mine with tape the (2) time(s) I took it off to avoid scratching it all up
getting it in and out... I bet you don't want to scratch up that freshly painted one,
but don't stick tape on paint that's not all the way cured...

IIRC, it's marked top with an arrow on the side that faces the center cover.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.
