Hi all Today out of the blue,Valk started pusing water out of the cap, only at idle. Down the road everything fine-doesnt get hot unless it pushes enough water out to be low ,I assume. No water in oil,I am leaning towards just a faulty cap? It is origianal. I replaced thermostat- antifreeze-all hoses 2 years ago. If it had a good cap I would think it would push water out the overfow hose, right? 98 standard 61k
Thanks Paul in Iowa

One for a 1992-1996 acura will if it. About 6 bucks at autozone or napa. I'm running one right now until I can get a stock one from HDL.

Before removing the stock cap, take the little set screw out.

Sometimes the lips on the radiator get a little bent, and can be carefully put straight... it might not be the cap. Several with the Show Chrome radiator cap cover have had this problem.

I would think the first thing to check is the overflow hose.
Take it loose at the cap barb and blow through it to be sure it's not plugged up!
Do this on a cold motor!

Mr. Bubbles, I was really hoping you could find a billet cap that would work. Haven't given up have you?

I e-mail the maker and they said that was the only size they made. I went ahead and ordered a oem one from HDL. At least I can still use my chrome cover on the stock one.

OK everyone, first, thanks for all the help. When you ride a Valk for 5yrs. and 40K plus, with never a hiccup, its really strange when somthing goes wrong. (almost remindes me of my Harley days!) Anyway,Mr. bubbles, thanks I put the new cap from Autozone and that stopped a lot of the leekage but after Ricky-D said to check the vent,it was not apparently plugged when I blew through it,maybe a little resricted but not plugged. I took the top hose off the overflow tank and problem went away. So I rerouted the top hose and it seems to be solved, will update if not. So if its cured, it doesnt take much restriction at all to leak out of the cap. Thanks again ,Paul in Iowa
