The scale at our clinic in Iraq was pitiful.  Just to get it working properly required plenty of kicking and stomping.  One day, as I was going through my weighting-in routine, a medic walked by.  Watching as I pounded the scale with my feet, he wondered aloud, “Killing the messenger?”
