Author Topic: Found this Mobil 1 oil at WalMart and I have a question  (Read 1415 times)

Is this oil O.K. to use on our valks. It doesn't have energy conserving on the bottom half of the circle. I didn't see that it was diesel oil which concerns me. It says that it's for high mileage engines, and fully synthetic. It's priced right at $3.68 a quart. What do you oil experts think? Sorry about the quality of the picture, I took them with my cellphone camera.

I remember when other branded oils, Castrol, etc, came out with the high-mileage oils, there was an addition of something slick...  either zinc or moly.. ??

I'm getting old & have CRS disease....

Their product data page just says "extra anti-wear additive"

I and many others use Mobil 1 15w-50  cooldude  .  Has the same empty bottom part of circle you referenced.  But as you know, there are many opinions vis a vis oil brand and weight  Undecided  .  No doubt you'll hear from those who have a different view very soon   laugh

Six, look at the "API service symbols, usually SM, SL, CF can be used in diesel service. No energy conserving additives added.
