I think my old shocks are worn out and bottoming out with two up  on my 98 standard .... should I spend the money on new I/S replacements  which are suppose to be heavy duty or should I think about the  progressive 440's ? Thanks Old Geezer Richard

I put the 440HDs 13in on my I/S  it picked the rear up some. I like it , if you want stock height go with the 12.5.

I put Progressive Airshocks on last year. They have been exectly what I wanted. When we go touring, I can pump them up to handle the luggage weight, and the low incremental additional weight of my better half, (she was reading this over my shoulder) and the bike rides nicely. When I'm out on my own, I lower the pressure, and it still rides nicely.
If you go with the air shocks, use a hand pump only, a compressor pump will blow the guts out.

It sound like the 440's have it , I was told on another post that the I/S shocks were a heavier duty than the stock oem because I ride two up and pull a trailer ..... I would imagine the cost of the I/S shocks would be around $ 400 at least vs the progressive $ 479 .... I like the life time warranty on the 440's .... Thanks Old Geezer Richard

Just put 440's on my 97 valk but got heavy duty. Quite firm one up but great when I'm all loaded. I still need to upgrade the front.
