Just curious, Has anyone made or thought of making a bike trailer out of a Jet ski trailer.

The are light weight, most are aluminium.  I was thinking of a double to haul two full size bikes.

Trying to cut down on weight for some long trips I have planned. Undecided

Well not a Jet Ski trailer but, I am building one from a boat trailer.  The difference being size.  I bought a tandem axle boat trailer and I'm in the process of transforming it into a Texas Roll Back for bikes, four wheelers, mowers, or you name it.

I saw a jet-ski trailer converted for carrying 2 dirt bikes and a go-cart.  I'd imagine that was about 700-1000 pounds of stuff.

Although... all that on there was a tight fit!!!!!!  You should have more room with a Valk though.

They guy who made it said it pulled great.  I been thinking about doing the same for when the wife and I want to go dirt riding (her on a 4-wheeler, me on a dirt bike).

The frame might survive, but I'd be concerned about whether the spring rate, axles and spindles are beefy enough to carry the weight. There's nothing worse than having a failure on the road fully loaded. Check with a local trailer parts place for details. Compare the weight of 2 jet skis vs. 2 big bikes before much money is spent.

Y0u are right the couple that have responded the gross weight was 1500 lbs.  I think I need a minimal of 2000 to be safe with 2 bikes, the Valk or a RSTD and a Fatboy

if looking to carry one bike they work perfectly. my brothers bike came with a double jet ski trailer and it handled the bike well.
