Due to the loss of funding for my position (thanks to the Gov not renewing a contract), I will be taking a position in Charleston, SC.  Gator (my sweet little Fat Lady Interstate), the dog and I will be heading there at the end of the month.  Wondering who is out in that area...what kind of riding is available, and where is a good area to live.  Thanks gang....

I have a buddy that lives in the area...he does not ride, but I will work on locations for living.

I will send you a PM when I hear more.

Good luck with the move.

Where is the job... North, South, or West Charleston or Downtown?

What do you like to do?  My Sister lives on Edisto Island.  I get down there once or twice a year to visit.

Edisto is about 1 hour south of Charleston.

Good Luck!

Lots of good seafood and fishing down there.

Only been to Charleston once. If you like history and beauty, you're going to love Charleston.
Enjoy your new home and ride safely.

I'm here in Chas'n. Let me know when you get here and we can ride. I live near Summerville just a few miles from Chas'n on I-26.

Job will be with Booz Hamilton working with Foreign Military Sales and training.  Will probably move there the end of the month...and kind of being forced on me due to the non-availibility of a job position here in DC...would have thought that there would be no problem getting something but NOOOOOOOO

Have a look at finding an old place to live downtown... harder (read more expensive) these days,
but living downtown is a pretty awesome Charleston experience.

It is easy to get out into the country side for a ride, it is all flat down there, but still good rides... people
from DC were here once  coolsmiley

If you can find a place there, Byrnes Down is a good place to live west of the Ashley,
it is still possible to rent there...

There's good beaches to swim at, and good food to eat in Charleston.
