Hangin' out here beats a tree on the head any day!

Cheaha is upon us in just a few days….the 13th of this month! There are still some rooms and cabins/chalets left up top….but I just released the block of rooms to the public. So if you don’t have a room, and need one….I’d go call pretty quick (1-800-846-2654).

Also, The Downtown Grill is having an early bird party at the grill on Thursday night (The grill is in downtown Cullman…Wayne from the board runs it).

I’ll be up there on THURSDAY night….come look me up if you get there early! If not, see a bunch of you Friday. We don’t have the Private lodge this year, so folks will probably gather for the first “tire kicking” session Friday in the hotel parking lot.

Hope to see you Thursday but just in case .... I seem to recall you posting warnings about where to park in the hotel parking lot to avoid your bike falling over .... something about the lot looking level but really isn't. I mention this because this will be my first year at the hotel and I really don't want to have to pick my Valk up off the ground.

YES....good reminder. Every year...EVERY YEAR....someone...or multiple people drop their bike in the hotel parking lot. It's got a SIGNIFICANT grade ...that can be deceptive until you slow down or stop....and THEN....you notice! just be aware and you should be fine. Many folks have fallen over the years when they first pull in (to the left) and then slow down ...and make the right to head towards the actual parking. that has a serious grade to it. Again, as long as you PAY ATTENTION...you should be fine.

I'll be in one of the Chalets this year. I'm thinking about doing some grilling at the Chalet that night. ALL are invited to stop by. If you bring some meat....i'll cook it for you. Let me know if you don't know how to get to the chalets. We'd love to have you (and ANYONE else) join us  Thursday night!

I've found it easiest to park at right angles to the white lines painted to show the spaces.

ps
Don't park nose in to the spaces next to the restaurant unless you've got strong thighs to push the bike back up a slope.  Shocked

As you go past the little building where you are to pay your entrance fee you will see the hotel parking lot on your left.  If you take the first left to go to the office is where you encounter the problem area.  It slopes to your left and you want to turn right which is uphill this is what gets everyone an it doesn't look as steep as it really is.  SOOOOO if you go on to the second left, the one past the hotel, you wil be going down hill and it will be easier.  You can then walk to the office.
