Will you please share that recipe? I have a freezer full of deer meat that I can't get my wife to try. I've tried soaking in buttermilk, salt, vinegar, etc and can't fool her yet! maybe this might work! lol Wink

Here ya go!

It is a very simple recipe and I would be happy share.  And just as an FYI, it is one of the recipes that will be in the cookbook I am hoping to have ready before Inzane, titled "Motomama's Munchies".

3 pound chuck roast
4 potatoes (rinsed and cut into chunks)
1 onion (cut in to chunks)
5 carrots, peeled and cut in to chunks
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 pkg onion soup mix
1 can diet coke

Place all of the vegetables in your crockpot, placing the chuck roast on top of them.  Using a whisk, combine mushroom soup, onion soup mix and coke in a bowl and whisk together.  Pour this mixture over the top of the roast, cover and cook on low approx 8 hours.  Serves 4-6

I have used Dr. Pepper, Rootbeer and Coke in place of the diet coke, when I had none on hand.  You cannot taste the soda at all.  The carbonation in the pop is what tenderizes your roast and I guarantee you, this roast will fall apart and just melt in your mouth!  I always use the drippings in the crockpot to make gravy, as it is a very tasty gravy!

Bring your crockpot to INZANE.
Damselfly is bringing her Dutch Ovens.
We could invite each other for dinner. Last year we fed a bunch of Valkers at the campground, and no one left without being STUFFED.

Same recipe here, but these are different.   Wife has had it since God only knows for how long.     She is a believer in the Crock Pot, and always experimenting.  Since I spent a few years in the Corp, I can eat almost anything.

2 cans of coke instead of 1

Peel carrots and drop in whole

cut the onion in 1/2

Same recipe otherwise and same results.   As Willow says, it is good.

O-k i don't know you but why do you miss meat?? If i'm prying-i really don't mean to. Just that i did some dang good pork ribs on my grill earlier tonight and mama and the daughter agreed with me-they were fantastic. Some fresh portabellos and a fresh tossed salad. Just curious on the missing meat thingy. Missing meat for me is going one meal without meat-oh the horror. RIDE SAFE.
