Some guys who warehouse across from my warehouse were having a pre-Hot Rod show this evening to kick off the big Hot Rod Show in Austin this weekend.  My business partner and I donated some lights to help jazz up their warehouse which is more of a club house than anything else.  Anyway, I put my son on the back of the Valk and we rode over after school to take a look at some of the cool rides.  There were some bikes there too - some bobbed Sportsters and a pretty sweet IronHorse chopper, but the Valk became an object of interest. coolsmiley

It seems these gearheads are fascinated with the flat six motor, so I took advantage of the opportunity and asked to borrow a nickel...wah-lah!  The nickel stuck like glue on its edge as I started her up and then it did a little dance across the valve cover for the small crowd as I revved the engine.  I felt like a proud papa as the fat lady strutted her stuff...too bad I left my camera at home! crazy2

Hehehe, gotta love the nickle trick!

I was.....politely.....but firmly..... requested to vacate the premises by staff when I was doing the nickle trick in the parking lot of a Brand X dealership a few years back...

Did you ever see the Harley guys do the Nickel trick?  It's neat but a little different.

They balance the nickel on the fins of the front cylinder.  Then they stand next to the engine and hold their pocket open.  Next, they start the motor and after a couple of bounces, the nickel pops off the engine and lands in their pocket! Evil

When I saw the Harley guys doing the nickel trick they were trying to get the nickel to bounce off of the bike, across the bar, and land in a shot glass.  One of them got hurt when the nickel hit him in the eye. Grin

Hey Laser Pat,

Saw the LLano Crawfish thing...I've got to work this weekend!   Not as cool as the SXSW thing, but it does pay a little better. cooldude

Thanks for the invitation for another great ride...stay dry and safe! Smiley

That sounds like more fun. Except for gettin hit in the eye. Ya have to down the shot if ya miss. It would have been more impressive if ya had done the trick with a penny. Which I have done with my Valk. Won a few bar bets an I didn't have to get hit in the eye. Wink

I can do the nickle trick on my harley.... but I have to hold the nickle between my teeth....
Think I chipped a tooth..... maybe that explains all the riders with Bubba teeth.... Cheesy
