Took a good ride from Santa Rosa to Ft. Bragg Nor Cal to Clear Lake Cal on Monday. Fantastic Day with a "Brother".
Have a few pics I took along the way.

Just outside of Willits looking west to the Pacific.

A little rec area about 1/2 way to the coast on Hwy 20

Some logging machinery at the rec area

Cap'n Flint's Menu

My lunch

Looking out the window at Noyo Harbor

Coast Guard practicing maneuvers just outside our table window, Thanks to all of them for keeping us FREE...

Out on the Point looking out to Sea

The entrance to Noyo Harbor from the Point

Another entrance shot.

A couple of "Locals".

One of the Many little cove beaches along Hwy 1.

Then it was south to Boonville, east to Ukiah. South to Hopland and up and over the twistys of the Hopland Grade to Lakeport to visit the parents. Then to my buddys house for the night and Home the next day. What a great trip, its the longest I've ridden the Valk yet. Let my buddy try it a few miles and now he's pissed, he wants one too! His VT1100C rattles his fillings above 65 mph.... Grin

Magellon-let your bro know there are quite a few valkyries for sale right here off this very board. You would be doing your bro a great disservice if you DIDN'T inform him of the for sale ads. Besides-wouldn't ya like for him to have the oppurtunity to be able to keep up with you and NOT increase his dental pay outs?? Just saying. RIDE SAFE.

The first time I visited that area, was inspired by a movie by Alfred Hitchcock, "The Birds". Started from San Francisco to Bodega Bay, had to go there after watching the movie, beautiful place. On up to Eureka, Clear Lake, Lake Berryessa, and I-80 back to SF. Was in the car, but it doesn't matter, still beautiful country. Tried to do it again last September, but the alternator on the I/S went out before I got started.

Magellon, any closures on Hwy 1? I am heading that way in June, going to get on Hwy 1 north of Malibu and ride it north of San Fran.

For the latest and greatest ifnormation on Hwy 1, go to the CALTrans website and look for road closures.   Hopefully, they haven't changed it since I retired.

One of the prettiest rides.  Thanks for the post.
I did it on 10 speeds in the early 70's with some friends.
I also have a VT1100 ACE. Bought it a year after the Valk. Tha Valk has 67k and the ACE has 22k.

Only road the coast about 50 miles it was open. RJ's idea is the best, they will report on any closures here. I use 1-800-427-7623 then type in the hwy number like 1 or 101 or 80 and listen to the report. I use it a lot when traveling to Tahoe.

Just tested the number and there is some closures in the central CAL area from a land slide. Let me know when your around, love to ride a bit with ya.

Going to be on HWY 1 on June 3rd picking up in Malibu I think and heading north we'll have to meet up somewhere.
